ABOUT BITTA FARM
This coffee from the lush fields of Bitta farm in Kaffa is certified organic and rainforest alliance. The farm was founded in 1993 and is situated at 1900-2050m. Bitta farm combines traditional farming with modern sustainable approaches. The fertile clay-loam soil, plenty of rainfall, and rich biodiversity make sure the cherries ripen slowly, which results in a complex cup.
Bitta farm is also taking social and environmental responsibility in its local communities. It tries to improve local quality of life through investments in infrastructure, education, water supply, and healthcare. It has its own nursery for seedlings and a composting program to improve soil fertility, while also working with neighboring farmers, providing them with a reliable market and training in sustainable agriculture.
With our roast, we aim to highlight the delicate acidity and floral notes that characterize this washed Ethiopia and avoid a sharp acidity.
